Antigen – a protein capable of triggering an immune response (synonyms: allergen, immunogen)

Interleukin – a signalling protein secreted in the body which carries a message from one cell to another chemically. The immune system is highly dependent on 17 known types of interleukins, most created and secreted by T-cells.
