Woman pulled off plane after complaining of ‘deadly’ dog allergies

At this point, the scenes from the airline-passenger meltdowns are familiar: the aggrieved and perhaps uncooperative flyer; the law enforcement officers pleading and commanding; the shocked and irritated passengers pulling out cellphones.

This time, it happened on a Southwest Airlines flight from Baltimore to Los Angeles.

A passenger was upset by two dogs on a Tuesday night flight. She claimed the animals would set off a deadly pet allergy, and she wanted them gone.

The officers who were called to remove her from the plane were accused of being too aggressive.

And, of course, the worst parts of the interaction were captured on a cellphone video that has rocketed around the world.

The video kicks in mid-confrontation. A woman screams at law enforcement officers, telling them “don’t touch me.”

At one point, she claims that her father “has surgery tomorrow. My dad has surgery.” She says that the responding officers have ripped her pants, and she needs to fix them.

Three officers plead with the woman and order her to get off the plane, which hadn’t yet departed from Baltimore-Washington International Marshall Airport.

At several points, they tug at her, or wrap their arms around her and try to pull her down the aisle.

Maryland Transportation Authority police identified the woman as Anila Daulatzai, 46, from Baltimore.

She was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, failure to obey a reasonable and lawful order, disturbing the peace, obstructing and hindering a police officer, and resisting arrest, according to Lt. Kevin Ayd, and released on her own recognizance.

Daulatzai is a professor at the Maryland Institute College of Art, according to the Los Angeles Times, and had been a visiting assistant professor at Harvard University. According to her Harvard bio, she’s a socio-cultural anthropologist with research projects in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Her research and teacher “circulate around the themes of war and humanitarianism.”

She could not immediately be reached for comment.

According to a statement by Southwest, the woman told the flight crew “that she had a life-threatening pet allergy,” but she didn’t have a medical certificate with her.

The airline’s policy is that a person traveling without such a certificate can be denied boarding “if they report a life-threatening allergic reaction and cannot travel safely with an animal on board.” One of the dogs on the plane at the time was a service animal, the airline said.

Southwest: do not settle, countersue.

Diane Berg says:

If it's not life threatening, why would she even ask? She would just be taking some Claritin to prevent the allergy from flaring up

Here she's saying she expected other passengers to be shuffled around for her "minor" allergies. Makes no sense

michael gangeri says:

it would be nice if Congress could pull their heads out of their ass for 5 min's and pass a comprehensive airline passenger bill of rights, which would include mandatory sentences for both airline employees and whichever piece of shit aviation or airport cops that are found guilty of pulling this shit. As well as this would also include a no drop policy like allot of domestic laws are this way now days as well!

She says she was profiled because she's "brown". I think she might be color blind because her skin color is not regular brown. She is beige.

lucaboden says:

She is a Muslim.  Muslim's hate dogs.   That was her motive for asking for the dogs to be removed.  She was requesting that her own well-being as a Muslim was more important than the people who were within their right to be on the plane with their dogs.  She wanted the dogs removed.  She has no comprehension that to most people, their pets are their children.   If anyone was going to leave, it had to be her.  No question.   Southwest and Cops did the right thing here.

Oh, I SEE how calm you were, you, lying racist bitch. And ALL the other people were lying, but the crazy racist bitch is telling the truth?
Funny, she literally has a doctorate in her own, Muslim culture she was born in, and victimhood. PhD in Socio-cultural Anthropology in 2013 from the Johns Hopkins University. She is a DOCTOR of professional victimhood, no less.

Deport her crazy, racist, lying ass back to Pakistan. And make sure you hand her the fake degree too as she leaves. They can laugh at her American degree on being a Pakistani, and how bad it was in America there. She'll be scrubbing floors or something else appropriate to her intelligence.
