Have you ever thought about bathing your dog with a human shampoo?

Do you know what would happen to your dog’s skin if you were wash him with the wrong shampoo?

In this short video we have prepared for you, you will find the answers to these questions.

Hello, from Healthy Clean Pet.com

Can I wash my dog using my human shampoo, or a baby shampoo? These are two of the most frequent questions we hear, and I will start by letting you know that Human shampoos and pet shampoos are not created equal since Pet skin and human skin are not alike in many ways:

1. First of all, the Ph Balance is different: human skin is more acidic than pet skin.

A dog’s skin is has a 7.5 ph while human skin is about 5.5, Therefore, a dog’s skin is more alkaline. So ideally a dog’s shampoo should be between 7-7.5 ph or it could be irritating or damaging to the skin.

Highly acidic shampoos may also diminish the hair’s protective properties, removing valuable oil from the coat and skin. The result is a dry, irritated skin and a dull coat.

2. Dogs have less layers and thinner layers of skin: A dog only has about 3-5 cell-layers thick while we have about 10-15 layers thick. This makes a dog’s skin sensitive and more delicate.
So, a shampoo that is formulated for human skin is too harsh for a pet.

3. Humans have sweat glands and pets don’t (not on their haired skin). Dogs eliminate toxins differently than we do. We can sweat them out. Since dogs really don’t sweat, their toxins are eliminated through their kidneys and bowels.

As you can see, Dogs have different problems that humans do, so the shampoos should have different ingredients that can help solve specific problems for each of them.

Using human shampoo in dogs can lead to dryness and irritation on your pet. Additionally, if the shampoo makes the skin feel dry, your dog will scratch at its skin, creating abrasions fruitful for bacterias to invade.

The skin is a major organ that plays a huge role in immunological defense. By drying the skin we’re stripping the oils and the top layers from an animal’s skin, thereby compromising the body’s natural barrier against infection. And when these defenses are disrupted it creates an environment where bacteria, parasites, and viruses can run rampant.

If you ever wondered if you can use human shampoo to bathe your dogs, the answer is a definite NO.

Please never use human shampoo to wash your dog because you will cause serious damage in the skin of your pet.

We only recommend to use shampoo specific designed for pets, made with natural ingredients to help protect and moisturize the skin of your dog.
